PC monitor keeps shutting off.?

I have a Sony Vaio Model PCG-252L. The issues is that the monitor keeps shutting off. I had the bulb in it replaced and it still does it. you can see the image on the screen very faintly. I know its an issue with the bulb. If I press the monitor power button on the top off and then on again it comes back on, but only for a few seconds and shuts off again.....any ideas???
