My egg has a tiny crack in it in it?

My egg I got from a farmer (he's a friend of mine and my daughter wanted a pet bird and we have a little egg) and it's been about a week since we had it, and my daughter is 12. We have an incubator for it and we check it every 5-7 times a day. We noticed an hour ago that there is a tiny crack in it, and the room smells faintly of boiled eggs. Does this mean anything? Will it hatch? The crack looks as though it were poked from the outside so that confuses me. It's just me and my daughter cause my husband is on a business trip and today we went to the stores so I know Kayla (my daughter) didn't touch it.
