Would Communism be great... if it could ever be achieved?

I don't think it can ever be achieved since we live in a brutal world full of selfish, greedy people. And even if it were achieved it would be invaded, bombed, or corrupted within a year of its birth. By communism I mean a stateless and classless society with a bottom-up, worker-controlled economy. it just isn't practical at this time.
