My boyfriend's mom said "I love you" to me...O.o?

Even before I started dating my boyfriend his mom always (according to my boyfriend) liked me and wanted him to date me someday. So less than a year later we got together and she's always been very nice to me and my boyfriend told me that his mom thinks he and I are really good together. The other day when I saw them at church (I have a very friendly church and everyone always gives hugs there...kinda awkward but I've gotten used to it) and gave him a hug and then gave his mom a hug and she said "I love you" O.o? Haha I find that somewhat odd for some reason. Is that weird, or am I just weird for thinking that lol?
